Since Now Voyager has his shoe back on we were able to have our first real riding workout out nearly two months. It was great! He was energetic and forward and happy. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I hadn’t forgotten everything I know about riding.
Here’s a photo from May just before the evil abscess took Now Voyager out of commission.
Note: Anke suggested I use side reins while learning to sit the trot (a key thing to be able to do in dressage). Seems the pressure I’d be exerting by bouncing around on his back would make Now Voyager want to raise his head up…probably as a defense mechanism. Really, the things these giant creatures tolerate from us.
