Weekend Highlights

Yes it’s been unusually cold here in SF. That’s why hats, down jackets and knee high wool socks exist. I’ve been wearing mine!

Saturday we went to Heritage Salvage in Petaluma to look at slabs of exotic woods. We might be building a new shelving system. And by we I mean Bert.

We did not make a purchase but I now know a whole lot more about wood.

Then we visited mom who continues to improve post-knee surgery. We didn’t go to the pool because the day was a little chilly. But she did surprise us with an entire thanksgiving meal – home cooked by her. Yum!

On our way home last night we stopped by one of my fave holiday houses. This little gem is lovely without decorations but they really go all out at Christmas.

I know you can’t see the detail but there a life size Santa on skis and gnomes hanging off chimneys and on swings. Great whimsy!

Today we did our usual 5 mile walk in the icy morning hours. Such clean air.

I waited until noon to visit the horse. Now Voyager is growing a very soft and furry winter coat. We had a lovely ride.

Alcatraz training hasn’t started yet. I did get to spin class two times last week. Baby steps 🙂
