Slow and steady running

I ran last night. Wind or no wind. And believe you me, there was wind.

I’m a slow runner. I usually average a 12 minute/mile. Thanks to the cold wind and all the clothes I was wearing to protect myself I was convinced this would be a 12+ min/mile night.

Resigned to my fate I plodded along, enjoying the back half of my shuffle playlist…the half I rarely hear because I’m always jumping back to the beginning to the songs with the thumping beat.

The latter portion of my playlist has some George Winston instrumental (piano) pieces. Turns out George plays piano to my pace!

And you know what? I finished the 5 miles in 55 minutes. That, my friends, is an 11 min/mile pace.

Woo hoo! Watch out world, here comes speedy KB!
