Quick Tri Update

I did it! My second triathlon race is history. And boy was it fun. I so see the attraction of sprint distance races…much more manageable.

More later when I can get the results from the See Jane Run site because otherwise I’m hopeless at figuring out how long each section took me to complete.

I think I did the race in about 90 minutes which was my goal. My transitions were definitely faster. Under 5 minutes I’m pretty sure. But each time I’d look at my watch and tell myself to remember the time I’d be ever so slightly confused the next time I’d look at my watch. That’s how I knew my body/mind were under a wee bit of stress 🙂

There is one residual negative…the taste of dirt in my mouth. The mucky lake bottom was really churned up by the swimmers and consequently the water that made it into my mouth had a healthy dose of dirt. Yuck.

Suffice to say that I pushed myself, had fun and look forward to doing more in the future!

happily recovering with ice cream cone in hand,

  1. Yeah! Glad you had fun. That’s the most important thing! Swimming in muck is never fun.

  2. Congratulations! I’ve only done one Tri…a sprint and loved it. Hoping to do another next summer if I can get in the grove of working out. That’s awesome even if you got a mouthful of churned up mud in your mouth!

  3. WWWOOOOOO GO KATHLEEN!!! So proud of you. 🙂 Can’t wait for all the details!! Great job!

  4. Way to go my friend! I was thinking about you! I meant to get a pre-race “WOOT!” in but missed that opportunity… Sorry about the dirt, tho. I’m sure it’s all been washed away by now 🙂

    Big hug to ya!!!
